Intergenerational Innovation Part 1: Housing
On Wednesday August 3rd, the Taskforce’s Intergenerational Subcommittee hosted a panel on the theme of “Innovations in Intergenerational Housing.”
The panel was the first in a series bringing together professionals across the Commonwealth to share intergenerational approaches to tackling some of our communities’ biggest challenges.
We were pleased to welcome three panelists with three very different solutions and perspectives:
Isaac Longobardi, a resident at Care Communities of Brookline and a Program Coordinator in Hebrew Senior Life’s Volunteer, Youth, and Community Engagement Department, spoke about his experience as a young resident in a care community.
John Dixon, the Director of Education at Lasell Village, discussed the shared campus model of Lasell University and Lasell Village and the benefits for students and residents of all ages.
Noelle Marcus, the Founder and CEO of Nesterly described the home sharing program that connects older adults with spare bedrooms to fixed-term renters looking for unique and affordable housing.
